Design Team Card by Rebecca! Retro OWLS!!

Here is the latest card from our design team member Rebecca!
She said ~
Today I used the a super cute 3 owl border from sideshow stamps! To create the texture on the card stock I misted brown tissue paper with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels) and crinkled 3-4 times. I then adhered it to the card stock with a bit of Tombow, and then inked the edges with Chocolate Chip ink (Stampin' Up). I grabbed some brown bakers twine and wound it around the card.I stamped the owl image on an oval and colored it using Water Color Pencils (Stampin' Up). I printed the owl sentiment on my pc and hand cut the banner.

These next two cards are by Lisa F! Check out Lisa's awesome blog for more cards and crafts!

This card is also by Lisa F. She used our coy fairy rubber stamp.

These next crafts are by Rebecca J! She said "This week I used the Pinstripped Black Widow from Sideshow Stamps...I love how creepy this spider is! I thought it would be fun to pair with with some cutesy twine....and a glittery web effect. For this project, I used metallic silver embossing powder (American Crafts) cut my stamped image and adhered it with a foam tab (American Crafts). To create the glittery web I sprayed my black card stock with stick and spray (CC International) and then sprinkled it with bridal embossing tinsel (Ranger). I also inked the edges of the purple card stock with basic black ink (Stampin' Up). To finish it off I tied a bow using orange and white bakers twine. The wooden blocks are recycled Stampin' Up wood mounts for stamps that I converted to clear mounts. "

"I also used the Pinstripped black widow to create this quick and easy Halloween card using card stock scraps, white pigment ink (Pamass) and my printer..."

Fabric and Stamps - Embossed Rubber Stamped Wall Hanging by Lisa F!

Here is another beautiful creation by our design team member Lisa F! She used our 40's owl, black hole star, martini and hibiscus rubber stamps and embossed them onto fabric! So creative!

Lisa says - "I stamped them on acetate with versa mark and used gold embossing powder. I then used my crop-a-dile to punch a hole in each corner. I strung either two or three things of beads on the top of each corner. The background for the stamps is left over small pieces of fabric. I hate throwing anything away, so when I have small leftovers, I sew them to 4x4 squares to be used in something later.  I cut the squares down, and sewed the stamped image on top. I sewed some pink ribbon at the top so it can hang!"

July 4th Sugar Free Low Carb Low Fat Berry Cheesecake PIE!!!

I made this cute red white and blue pie for the 4th of July recently. I know, I should've taken a picture... but believe me, it was delicious! Who thought you could have cheesecake on a DIET!?!
This low carb sugar free crust is so yummy and tastes a lot like graham cracker crust. The almond milk used in the pudding makes it a soft set, which is why I used the cottage cheese to help thicken. If you're not doing low carb, it will set better with regular milk. Don't use soy milk though, that won't set at all.

Here's the recipe:

Crust:
1 cup almond meal
2 T butter
3 T splenda
1 T vanilla extract
1-2 T water to get the right consistancy

Preheat oven to 350. Mix the ingredients and pat into a greased pie pan. Bake for 15 minutes, but watch that it doesn't burn around the edges.

Filling:
1 pckg sugar free fat free cheesecake pudding
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup half and half
1/2 cup ricotta or cottage cheese
Strawberries and Blueberries to garnish

Mix together the pudding, milk, half and half and cheese. Fill the baked pie crust and decorate the top with sliced strawberries and blueberries. Refridgerate for at least an hour to set.

Enjoy!

Hot cuppa Joe and an Upcycled Recycled Rubber Stamped Card!!

Hot cuppa Joe? ahhhh..... sip.....
How's it going everyone? Happy Monday!
Here's a recycled card I made. I wanted to use those cool graphics from the side of a Trader Joe's bag and incorporate them into my design to achieve a vintage look. And I used a recycled piece of paper for the card itself, and a salvaged piece of ribbon for too!
I stamped our victorian perfume bottle, hat and shoe in the background with blue ink. Then stamped our Art Nouveau girl and the spiral onto seperate pieces of card stock. I colored the girl with colored pencils and brushed the edges of the spiral with brown ink and a sponge. I stamped thank you and our victorian key straight onto the card with brown ink. Then I cut out the plane from the T.J.'s bag and colored some highlights onto it with colored pencil. Then I assembled the whole thing with double stick tape.
Pretty cool, quick and easy! :)

Guacamole Ceviche - Cinco De Mayo Low Carb Recipe!

Happy Cinco De Mayo!
I made up this DEEELLISHUS low carb recipe that combines guacamole and ceviche today, and thought I'd share it with you all.

GUACAMOLE CEVICHE

30 small deveined and no tail frozen shrimp
1/2 T butter
2 T chopped red onion
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp cumin
shake of garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste

1 Avocado
1 medium roma tomato
8 black olives
1 jalapeno deseeded and diced
1 small handful of cilantro (about 2 Tbs chopped)

Add shrimp and butter to a saucepan on medium and saute till for about 3 minutes to defrost them. Then add in the red onion, cumin, garlic and salt and pepper. Simmer on medium, letting the liquid reduce for about 5 minutes and then add in the lemon juice. Turn off the heat.

Meanwhile peel the avocado and roughly chop up the avocado, tomato, olives, jalapeno and cilantro and combine in a bowl.
Add the cooked shrimp mix to the veggies and toss to combine. Refridgerate and serve cold or eat it like we did, right away!! SOOOO YUMMY!

Makes 2 servings
Approximately 7.5 carbs (by my calculations)

Quick and easy 10 minute rubber stamped cards!

These cards were SOOOOO easy to make and yet they look like I put a lot of work into them!
The first tip is to buy those $1.00 packs of pretty lil' blank cards with corresponding envelopes you see in the Michael's and Target $1 Spot bins. Then craft it up!

On this card I stamped our Happy Anniversary rubber stamp on white card stock then trimmed it. Then I double stick taped it on to a piece of red card stock which I punched some star shapes from. (Got the punch from the dollar spot too!) I double stick taped that onto the card along with some more of those lil' stars, stamped a flower on the envelope, and voila'... DONE!

On this card I stamped our Coffee Shop rubber stamp onto some white card stock. I punched a few of those star shapes out of the edges, along with some small holes I made with a hole punch. I colored the edge insides of the holes and traced a few lines of the rubber stamped image with markers for accent. Then I edged the piece of card stock with green dye ink via a sponge and double stick taped it on. I taped a few more star punches and a ribbon on the bottom, stamped a flower the envelope, and within 10 minutes, this one was DONE too!

Fun and easy for that last minute birthday party or anniversary you need a card for! :)

Retro Rubber Stamped Cards by Sarah!

Check out these oldies, but goodies by Sarah Moore! She made these cards for us a few years ago, and I thought they needed to resurface!
Sarah used our retro cherries, neat phrase and saddle shoe rubber stamps on this first card. Easy ribbon weaved through layers of cut squares makes it fancy!

On this one Sarah used our hot dog kid and our far out phrase rubber stamps. Reminds me of the circus. :)Strips of cut paper punched with tiny holes, hole punched stars and a peekaboo hole for the phrase makes this card complete. These easy tips help make something so simple look sooooo cool!

Make up a quick 10 minute card for your bff today!
